ABS access modes provide XPS users with different levels of viewing and editing privileges for the Berth Scheduler window. Every mode comes with its own set of features. For example, a N4 administrator may want to grant edit privileges to some users so that they can make changes to the berth plan but read-only privileges to another group of users to keep them from editing. See also ABS-related user privileges (on page 1).
The privileges that your N4 administrator assigns determine which access modes are available in the drop-down list in the ABS Launch Pad dialog box. When you use this dialog box to open the Berth Scheduler window, you need to select the access mode appropriate for the tasks at hand. For example, to edit the imminent berth schedule, you would select Live Update mode, but to make changes to the long-term schedule, you would select PrePlanner mode.
This table describes all ABS access modes and identifies the privileges that control them.
